Yoga Posture - The Relaxing Stance

The different postures that are being used in yoga are probably the main reason why people who are looking for health and fitness benefits were drawn to it. Aside from the possibilities spiritual strength and deeper philosophical knowledge, the practice of yoga has become popular due to the wellness benefits it can bring through the different postures.

Known as the extensive anthology of religious techniques and practices that aim to put together the mind, the body, and the spirit in order to achieve a certain state of illumination and oneness with the universe, yoga has been influencing people across the globe with its philosophies translated into fitness practices.

The modern-day effects of yoga include the reduction of anxiety and stress, increase in strength and energy, flexibility and posture while helping a person to building and tone his or her muscles.

It is also believed that the mere practice of yoga in everyday life can also increase memory and can improve the level of concentration. In medical terms, yoga is an effective way in reducing blood pressure, relieving pain, and improving digestion. Yoga also aids in specific medical conditions like high blood pressure, arthritis, osteoporosis, poor circulation, back pain, depression, severe headaches and some breathing problems.

Learning yoga postures

The eye-catching promise of poise, grace, and flexibility are the common reasons why people—especially females—are being drawn to yoga classes nowadays. Having a similar stance with ballet, more and more people see yoga as a relaxing yet more elegant form of exercise. But, there’s more to yoga than the graceful stance it creates—the benefits it brings through various yoga postures.

Posture—a state of concentration of the mind during yoga session—is the most basic fuel for the effectivity of the exercise. Known as “asanas” in today’s practice, the yoga postures are taught in steady, easy, and comfortable positions. This is basically in line with the idea that deep meditation with slow body movements can free the anxiety and stress in your body.

Here are some common yoga postures being practiced by beginners.
1. Sukhasana or “Easy Pose.” This specific yoga posture gives composure to your body and to your mind that would eventually lead into inner accord and the creation positive outlook in life.
2. Talasana or the “Palm Pose.” It aims to increase your height by stretching the “thorax” and the lower abdomen with a combination of various body movements.
3. Konasana or the “Angle-Pose.” This is the yoga posture is known to contribute to the flexibility of your body to make your muscles supple.
4. Utkatasana or the “Semi-standing pose on tiptoe.” If you want to flex the muscles of your legs and the pelvis, this is the right yoga posture for you.
5. Chakrasana or the “Wheel Pose.” This specific yoga posture is great in exercising your spine and your middle-trunk.
6. Bhadrasana or the “Throne Pose.” It is a great exercise for your pelvic organs, the groin, the unused thigh muscles, and the sex organs.
7. Sirsha-asana or the “Head-stand.” This is the most well-known yoga posture because of the numerous physical and mental benefits.
8. Nataraja-asana or the “King of the Dance Pose.” This specific posture can definitely help you strengthen your sense of balance and deep concentration. Through constant practice, the muscles of your hips, legs and chest muscles are being toned.
